- 59th Grammy Awards
- The 59th Annual Grammy Awards were announced by the Recording Academy announced at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016.
- British singer Adele won the most awards in 5 different categories. She also created history by becoming first artist to win the top three categories twice (for first time in 2012)
- Grammy Awards are the recording industry’s most prestigious award presented annually by National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States
- Album The four main categories of award, these Best New Artist.

- 70th Bafta Awards
- The 70th British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards ceremony was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

- PSLV-C37 successfully launches 104 satellites in a single flight.
- ISRO’s bid to script space history by sending 104 satellites into orbit using a single launcher on February 15 will depend on critical support provided by India’s own satellite navigation system.
- The milestone mission, PSLV- C37, will use the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS)
- Use of IRNSS: To determine the orbit of each satellite injected from the launch vehicle at a height of more than 500 km from the earth’s surface
- Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the fastest bowler to take 250 Test wickets.
- Indian off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin became the fastest cricketer to take 250 wickets in Test matches. He achieved this feat in his 45th test match played against Bangladesh.
RAJASTHAN
- RESU – The first skill university of India at Jaipur
- Rajasthan ILD Skill University (RISU), the first Skill University of India in the Government sector has been established in Jaipur by the virtue of an Ordinance passed by the Government of Rajasthan,
- An MoU had been signed in Resurgent Rajasthan Investment Summit, Nov 2015, with Institute of Leadership Development (ILD), as an entity under Industrial Finance Corporation of India. RISU will soon function from a 33 acre sprawling and picturesque ILD campus, near the famous Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, Jamdoli.
- RISU has been conceptualised to integrate the corridors in vocational training with mainstream education, using National Skill Qualification Framework and strong industry linkages.
