- Agri share goes down in GDP of state: study
- The contribution of agriculture sector to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Rajasthan has come down from 28.93% in 2013 to 24.61% in 2017-18, revealed a report released by the Centre for Community Economics and Development Consultants Society, a civil society organisation.
- The report stated that the Rajasthan government has been spending 3% to 3.5% of the state’s GDP on education while the expenditure should be at least 6% according to the recommendations of the Kothari Commission.
- In the health sector, the report raised concerns over the lack of medical facilities in rural areas due to the shortage of doctors with most posts remaining vacant. The report also stated that 46.8% of women in the state were anaemic.
