- USA -India closeness at the expense of India- Russia relationship: Decline in defence import from Russia after Crimea annexation. US sanction on Russia has forced many Indian companies to rollback economic transaction with Russia. India part of Quad.
- Russian economy is severely under pressure due to the global isolation and sanctions. As a result Russia can prioritises the stability of economy over Old relationship and may indulge in military venture with irresponsible state like Pakistan. This is a huge concern as this outcome can result into instability in India’s neighbourhood.
